On April 11, the State Grid Co., Ltd. released the "State Grid Co., Ltd. Service New Energy Development Report (2019)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Development Report"), showing that as of the end of 2018, my country's cumulative installed capacity of new energy power generation reached 0.36 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 22%, accounting for 19% of the country's total installed capacity, surpassing hydropower for the first time; new energy power generation added 66.22 million kilowatts, it accounts for 54% of the total new installed capacity of the country's power supply. Among them, the cumulative installed capacity of new energy power generation in the State Grid operation area is 298.96 million kilowatts, an increase of 23 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 83 percent of the country's cumulative installed capacity of new energy power generation, and the new installed capacity of new energy power generation is 55 million kilowatts, accounting for 83 percent of the country.
Among them, in 2018, my country's newly installed wind power capacity was 21.01 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 31%; as of the end of 2018, the cumulative installed capacity of wind power was 184.26 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 13%, accounting for 9.7 of the total installed capacity of the country's power supply. The newly installed capacity of wind power in the area is 17.22 million kilowatts, accounting for 82% of the country's cumulative installed capacity of wind power, and 146.12 million kilowatts.
In 2018, my country's new installed capacity of solar power generation was 45.21 million kilowatts, accounting for 68% of the total new energy installed capacity; as of the end of 2018, the cumulative installed capacity of solar power generation was 174.63 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 35%, accounting for 9.2 of the total installed capacity of power sources. Among them, the newly installed capacity of solar power generation in the State Grid operation area was 37.77 million kilowatts, accounting for 84% of the country, and the cumulative installed capacity of solar power generation was 152.83 million kilowatts, it accounts for 88% of the cumulative installed capacity of solar power generation in the country. The cumulative installed capacity of solar power generation exceeded that of wind power for the first time.
According to the development report, in 2018, under the policy role and market choice, the installed capacity of new energy power generation continued to shift to areas with better consumption. As of the end of 2018, the cumulative installed capacity of wind power in the "Three Norths" region was 9 percentage points lower than that at the end of 2015; as of the end of 2018, the cumulative installed capacity of solar power in the "Three Norths" region was 18 percentage points lower than that at the end of 2015.
By the end of 2018, the installed capacity of new energy power generation in 13 provinces and regions, including Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia, Hebei and Xinjiang, accounted for more than 20% of the total installed capacity of power supply in their provinces; the cumulative installed capacity of wind power in seven provinces and regions, including Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Hebei, Gansu, Shandong, Shanxi and Ningxia, exceeded 10 million kilowatts; The cumulative installed capacity of solar power generation in Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui exceeded 10 million kilowatts.
The "Development Report" shows that in 2018, my country's new energy power generation and its proportion will achieve "double liters". In 2018, China's new energy power generation reached 543.5 billion kwh, an increase of 29 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 7.8 percent of the country's total power generation, an increase of 1.2 percentage points over the same period last year. The new energy power generation in the national network operation area reached 439 billion kwh, accounting for 81% of the country. Among them, wind power generation 366 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 21%, accounting for 5.2 of the country's total power generation; wind power generation in the State Grid Operation Area 283.6 billion kWh, accounting for 77% of the country; solar power generation 177.5 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 52%, accounting for 2.5 of the country's total power generation, and solar power generation in the State Grid Operation Area 155.4 billion kWh, accounting for 88% of the country.
At the same time, the new energy abandonment and abandonment rate to achieve "double down". In 2018, the new energy waste power in the State Grid operation area 26.8 billion kWh, down 35 percent from the same period last year, the power abandonment rate was 5.8 percent, down 5.2 percentage points from the same period last year, and the overall utilization rate of new energy was 94.2 percent. Specifically, the abandoned wind power in the company's operating area was 21.7 billion kWh, a year-on-year decrease of 37%, and the wind abandonment rate was 7.1, a year-on-year decrease of 5.8 percentage points; the abandoned photovoltaic power in the operating area was 5.2 billion kWh, a year-on-year decrease of 23%, and the abandonment rate was 3.2.%, a year-on-year decrease of 3.0 percentage points. 22 provinces and regions basically do not abandon wind, 24 provinces and regions basically do not abandon light; Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Shanxi 3 provinces 3 provinces abandon wind rate fell below 5%, Qinghai, Ningxia 2 provinces abandon light rate fell below 5%.
With regard to the consumption of new energy in key areas such as Gansu and Xinjiang, the Development report revealed that in 2018, Gansu's new energy abandoned electricity 6.4 billion kwh, down 42 percent from the same period last year, with a power abandonment rate of 16.5 percent, down 13.2 percentage points from the same period last year; in 2018, Xinjiang's new energy abandoned electricity 12.8 billion kwh, down 20 percent from the same period last year, and the power abandonment rate was 21.3 percent, down 6.5 percentage points.
